Dental Hygienists
Annie RDH, BDH
Annie graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene and local anesthesia. She was honored with a Leadership award from American Dental Hygiene Association. Annie loves working at Family First Dentistry because of the positive and hardworking attitude from each of her team members. She believes good oral health is a team effort between the dentist, hygienist, and the patient.
Annie and her husband Matt moved to Alaska in the summer of 2017. In their spare time, they enjoy hiking, biking, and fishing. They also both enjoy cooking, often trying to out-do each other with the meals they make. Annie and Matt fell in love with Alaska and look forward to a lifetime of Alaskan adventures.
Tami RDH, BDH
Tami earned her Bachelor's in Dental Hygiene from Utah Tech University in 2012, graduating summa cum laude. She received the 2012 Colgate "Total Student" award and holds licenses for Hygiene, Nitrous, Anesthesia, and Restorative functions. Shortly after graduating, She moved to Alaska with her husband and two children. As a dental hygienist, she furthered her skills by working with Dr. Harr for five years performing fillings and restorations, in addition, receiving certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and assisting with all IV sedation and surgical procedures. This extensive experience has provided her with a unique perspective on total oral health, allowing her to see the complete picture and help patients achieve their oral health goals. She enjoys the long-lasting relationships she has built with patients/ friends at Family First Dentistry.
Outside of her professional life, she loves Alaska and spending time outdoors enjoying its natural beauty. Her favorite ways to spend her time are with her family and friends. Her favorite Alaska adventure is year round hiking.
Candace RDH
Candace is a Registered Dental Hygienist and a proud 1990 graduate of the UAA dental hygiene program. She has been in practice ever since, spending the majority of those years building lasting relationships and good friends with patients and staff at Family First Dentistry.
A lifelong Alaskan raised in Fairbanks, she moved to Anchorage to complete her education at UAA. She remains an active member of both the National Dental Society and the local state Dental Hygiene society.
In recent years, Candace has returned to her alma mater, dedicating several years to the UAA dental hygiene program as an instructor. In this role, she mentors students in the clinic, helping to shape the next generation of dental hygienists.
When she is not working or instructing, Candace enjoys the outdoor life Alaska has to offer, from hiking to skiing, camping, and fishing. She lives in Anchorage near her two married children, Tessa and Ryeder. Candace continues to enjoy the rewards she gets from having the privilege to work with such a great team and getting to help so many people everyday.
Sam RDH, BDH
Sam is a registered dental hygienist and received her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene from Eastern Washington University in 2018, graduating with honors. Working in dental hygiene she has a passion for improving the health of her patients, easing their dental fears while giving them comprehensive oral care. She loves getting to know her patients and building good patient rapport. She started working at Family First Dentistry in 2020 and loves being a part of a team that strives to put patients first and provide the best dental care. Born and raised in Anchorage Alaska, she has a passion for everything outdoors. She believes Alaska is one of the best places to live with so much to offer, serving her community is a privilege and she is happy to do it for many more years to come.
Sue RDH
Sue was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska where she received her degree as a registered dental hygienist, from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She has been practicing with Family First Dentistry since 2019. Sue is dedicated to building meaningful connections with her patients, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment while ensuring high-quality care.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys traveling internationally, attending soccer matches, and embracing new experiences.
Meredith RDH
Meredith graduated with honors in 2018 from the University of Anchorage, Alaska, where she earned her degree in Dental Hygiene. Before becoming a hygienist, she gained valuable experience working as a dental assistant, which helped build the strong clinical foundation she brings to patient care today.
Throughout her career, Meredith has worked in both pediatric and general dental settings and truly enjoys caring for patients of all ages. She believes that education is one of the most important parts of dentistry and is passionate about helping patients understand how to care for their teeth and support their overall health. Meredith takes pride in making each visit comfortable while empowering patients with the knowledge they need to maintain healthy smiles.
Meredith loves being part of the team at Family First Dentistry and appreciates working in an environment where quality of care is the top priority. She is grateful to work alongside a wonderful team that shares her commitment to providing the best possible care for every patient.
